🔹 1. भर्ती प्रक्रिया (Recruitment Process)

🧭 Routes to Join Indian Army

1. As a Soldier (Jawan / Sipahi)

  • Entry: Through Army Rally Bharti

  • Qualification: Class 10 or 12 (varies)
  • Age: 17.5 to 21 years (General Duty)
  • Physical & Medical fitness: Mandatory
  • Process:
    • Online registration: joinindianarmy.nic.in
    • Written Test (CEE) → Merit List → Physical Test → Medical → Final Merit List

2. As an Officer (Class 1 Post)

(a) NDA – National Defence Academy (After 12th)

  • Qualification: 10+2 (PCM for Army, Navy, Airforce)
  • Age: 16.5 – 19.5 years
  • Exam: UPSC NDA (twice a year)
  • Training: 3 years NDA Pune + 1 year IMA Dehradun

(b) CDS – Combined Defence Services (After Graduation)



  • Qualification: Any graduate (IMA), BSc/BE (OTA, AFA, INA)
  • Age: 19 – 25 years
  • Exam: UPSC CDS + SSB Interview
  • Training: IMA, OTA, etc.

(c) TES Entry – Technical Entry Scheme (After 12th with PCM)

  • Qualification: 70% in PCM (12th)
  • No written exam: Direct SSB
  • Age: 16.5 – 19.5 years

(d) TGC/UES/SSC (Tech) – For Engineers

  • Qualification: BE/BTech
  • Entry: Through technical streams, direct SSB

(e) NCC Special Entry

  • Qualification: Graduation + NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing)
  • Entry: Direct SSB entry, no exam

(f) Territorial Army (TA) Officer

  • Qualification: Graduation
  • Age: 18 – 42 years
  • Eligibility: Civilian candidates & Ex-servicemen both eligible
